Center for Community (CFC) has administrative staff and direct service workers who help our clients with various services.

CFC has administrative offices in Sitka, Juneau and Anchorage where administrative staff work and hire direct service workers to provide client services. Center for Community’s main administrative office is located in Sitka.  In Juneau and Anchorage CFC is known as COMPASS Homecare.

All of our staff must be able to pass a State Criminal Background Check to be eligible for hire.

Administrative Assistant Early Learning Program

The Center for Community’s Early Learning Program is looking for a part-time (10 hours per week) Administrative Assistant.  Successful applicant will assist the ELP staff in overall office management of the program and in the running of the program’s weekly  playgroup.    Must have strong organizational and time management skills.  Strong skills in the use of computers for word processing and other applications necessary.   Experience with Medicaid and Tri Care billing an asset.  Please send resume to Gail Trujillo at Center for Community, 700 Katlian St. Suite B or email gtrujillo@cfc.org.  Questions: call 907-966-42331  Salary dependent upon experience. Job Descriptions

Direct Services Positions
The majority of our staff is employed as Direct Service Workers providing our clients with help in the consumer’s home and community of choice.  The Direct Service Workers positions include:

Chore Workers
Chore workers help our clients with chore work in the client’s home.  This can include shopping for the client, assisting the client do their laundry, mopping or vacuuming floors, washing dishes and other common in home tasks that help keep the client’s home clean and tidy.

Respite Workers
Respite workers help the caregivers of our clients get a “break”.  Often the caregivers live with the client and provide help 24 hours a day. Respite workers offer the caregiver a chance to get out of the home while the respite workers stay with the client at home playing games, watching a movie, visiting, or just spending time with the client to keep the client safe.

Personal Care Assistants
Personal Care Assistants (PCA’s) help our clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting and other personal care functional activities in the consumer’s home. In some of our programs, the PCA’s must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or have a State Personal Care Assistant Certification.  However, the Consumer Directed Personal Care Program, one option for clients, allows the client to be a co-employer with our agency and the client can choose to have family, friends or acquaintances hired as PCA’s to work for the client.

Training Specialists
These positions are available in Sitka only.  In the local Sitka community, training specialists work with individual clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the client’s home and out in the community. The training specialist helps the client with IDD with supported employment (helps client work as independently as possible as place of employment), supported living (assists client with tasks like shopping and chores in the home), day habilitation (assists client on social and community integration skills) and respite (giving the client’s caregiver a break).
